Born in Calgary, Kelsey started dancing at the age of four. Her training began with classical ballet, and quickly expanded into character ballet, modern jazz, contemporary, and gymnastics/acrobatics.
Kelsey attended various ballet summer schools, including Joffrey Ballet in New York, and several Alberta Ballet summer schools. She then joined the School of Alberta Ballet at the age of 17, eventually graduating from their Professional Graduate Program. Kelsey has had the pleasure of training under the direction of Murray Kilgour and Edmund Stripe. She holds her Advanced 2 certificate with distinction, and performed her Solo Seal exam in 2014. Kelsey’s Royal Academy of Dance training was completed under the expertise of Lynnette Kelley.
Kelsey has a range of performance experience competing in festivals and competitions across the world. She travelled to Antwerp, Belgium to compete in the 2014 International Genée competition.
Kelsey comes from a musical background in piano, and when she’s not dancing she enjoys working on visual arts. She also enjoys developing her own choreography when she’s able, such as co-creating and performing an original piece in the 2015 Soulocentric Contemporary Showcase.
