We begin the production with Citie Ballet’s own Kiera Keglowitsch’s provocative investigation of the impact of melting glaciers with her debut of On The Edge. Dancers’ bodies are harnessed to express our ambivalence towards the majesty of these essential formations that sustain us as we ponder the consequences of allowing them to simply disappear through our collective willful blindness.

The second half of the production features a provocative new creation from former Alberta Ballet principal dancer, Yukichi Hattori, with his piece Ghosts. Hattori weaves unique new balletic forms and pushes the envelope of new movement compositions. This piece is an imagination of being released from the living, and examines our innate desire to explore what awaits us.
This work is underscored by an original soundscape by Edmonton electronic production duo, Nulle Part, who utilize an arsenal of analogue synthesizers, drum machines, detuned vocals, and clouded pianos to create a rich, textured sound to support the title piece.
